Guímís
God of Love; on this Easter day of new beginnings, we remember the men, the women and the children who died during 1916. We give thanks for their lives, their wisdom and their bravery. We also give thanks for past generations who have contributed towards Ireland taking her place among the nations of the world.

Solas na bhFlaitheas dár n-anamacha

As we journey forward, we remind ourselves, to listen to the voices that challenge, especially of the poor and the disadvantaged. In your presence Lord, we are truly free and equal. Help us continue to work for equality and opportunities for all.

Aware of our personal wounds, we embrace you, as Lord of the dance! Help us to be present with you, to the rhythm of life, in this moment of now and to cast aside any fear which diminishes our freedom! We continue to give gratitude for the rights we enjoy and we endeavour to cherish all equally.

Thank you Lord, for our country, our people and our flag. May we continue to build bridges of peace and to celebrate diversity.  Help us to see the beauty of every human person. In our busy world may we take time to be quiet and listen to the voices that challenge.  Amen.

Moladh go deo le Dia – Praise God forever!
