Carol Service 2015 *updated*
We provide below a video from the 2015 Defence Forces Carol Service courtesy of the DF Audio Visual School.
The Army No 1 Band and the Defence Forces Pipe Band were joined by Il Coro Italiano di Dublin, Aoife Gibney and Sgt David Martin in Holy Family Church, Aughrim Street, Dublin 7 for a prayerful, memorable and festive gathering of music and song.
We invite you to share this link with your family and friends during the 12 days of Christmas and remember a prayer for all who serve at home and overseas.
Serving and retired members of the Defence Forces are welcome to attend the annual DF Carol Service on Wednesday 09 December at 20:00hrs.
This year’s Carol Service will be held in the Church of the Holy Family at Aughrim Street (between McKee Barracks and Arbour Hill Church).
This change of location is due to the renovations which are currently underway at Arbour Hill.
The Army No 1 Band will be joined by the DF Pipe Band and “Il Coro Italiano di Dublin” for an evening of music, prayer and reflection. Soloists this year include Aoife Gibney and Sgt David Martin.
The choir was founded in 1986 by Dr. Rosa Maria Chicco-Ferraro, Deputy Head of Mission at the Italian Embassy in Dublin at that time. Originally, the choir was for the most part drawn from adult students of Italian language and literature in Dublin.
Il Coro Italiano di Dublin has performed at many venues in Dublin, including the Farmleigh Christmas Festivals and at various other festivals throughout the country. The choir has toured in Italy and Germany, performing in Tuscany, Lazio, Piedmonte and in Sicily.
